Cookie Policy

Cookie settings
Strictly necessary cookies are always on. Everything else is off until you turn it on. Your choice is saved on this device and browser — if you use Eye Palace somewhere else, you'll be asked there too.
- Always on
Strictly necessary
Keep you signed in, remember where the Back button goes, and keep forms and accounts secure. The site can't work without these, so they're always on.
Preferences
Remember optional choices you make on this device. Eye Palace doesn't use any preference cookies today; this decides whether we may in future.
Analytics
Lets us see how Eye Palace is used (PostHog): page views, clicks, scrolling and session recordings — with anything you type hidden and private pages like messages never recorded.
Advertising
Let Google (AdSense) use cookies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your interests. If this is off, any ads you see are non-personalised.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, like your browser's local storage and session storage, work in much the same way. In this policy we call all of them "cookies".
Strictly necessary
These are needed for Eye Palace to work, so they can't be switched off.
| What | Stored in | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session | Local storage (sb-…-auth-token) | Keeps you signed in to your account and protects your requests. | Until you sign out |
| Navigation trail | Session storage | Remembers the pages you came from so the Back button takes you to the right place. | Until you close the tab |
| Cookie choices | Local storage (ep-cookie-consent) | Remembers the cookie choices you make on this page or in the cookie notice. | Until you clear it or change your choices |
Preferences
Preference cookies would remember optional choices on this device. Eye Palace doesn't use any today. This switch decides whether we may in future.
Analytics
If you allow analytics, Eye Palace uses PostHog to see how the site is used: page views, the buttons and links people click, how far they scroll (heatmaps), and session recordings. PostHog stores a cookie and local-storage entries (names starting with "ph_") to recognise your browser between visits. Everything you type is hidden in recordings, and private pages (messages, settings and password reset) are never recorded. Nothing is collected until you switch Analytics on, and switching it off stops it.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
Eye Palace may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Eye Palace and/or other sites on the internet.
If you allow advertising cookies, Google may set cookies to show you personalised ads and to measure them. If you don't, we tell Google not to use advertising cookies, and any ads you see are non-personalised (they may still use cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting where the law allows).
- Opt out of personalised ads from Google in Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of some other vendors' personalised ads at www.aboutads.info.
- See how Google uses cookies in advertising.
Other ways to control cookies
Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies in their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies or local storage, you won't be able to stay signed in to Eye Palace.
